Feb 27 (Interfax-AVN) - A rotation of the Russian peacekeeping contingent within KFOR stated overnight to Wednesday, a spokesman for the Moscow military district told Interfax-Military News Agency. About 200 motorized riflemen will be airlifted to Kosovo from the Russian city of Tver and over 600 paratroopers whose term of service in the Balkans has expired will return home, the spokesman said. Five military transport planes of the Russian Air Force will make flights to Kosovo and back to airlift the servicemen, special equipment and cargoes in March. The second plane will leave Tver for the Slatina airport in Kosovo on Friday, the spokesman said. The reduction of the Russian peacekeeping contingent under command of Major General Nikolai Kriventsov is taking place in accordance with a decision of Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin.   • PIMENOV: Commander of the CIS Collective Peacekeeping Forces in Tajikistan  Born on 25th April 1946 in the town of Volsk, Saratov Region, he graduated from the Kazan Tank School in 1966 and commanded a platoon and company in the school.  Upon graduating from the Military Academy of the Armoured Forces in 1974, he held the posts of deputy regiment commander and regiment commander in the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany, and was subsequently regiment commander, deputy division commander and division commander in the Belarussian Military District.
  •     In 1987 he graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Soviet Armed Forces and was appointed chief of staff - first deputy army commander in the Western Group of Forces.   He later held the posts of army commander in the Volga Military District and separate army commander - deputy commander of the Kaliningrad Special Region for the Land Force.   He became deputy commander of the CIS Collective Peacekeeping Forces in Tajikistan in May 1999.
