Decreased the debt to budget and non-budget funds by RUR39.3m (USD1.34m) and the debt to banks by RUR74.6m (USD2.56m). Profits from sales of products and services amounted at RUR4.1bn (USD140.81m) in 2000. The composite balance profits are estimated at RUR210.4m (USD7.21m) and the net income at RUR119.2m (USD4.08m). Oct 1 (Interfax-AVN) - The Sukhoi Aviation Holding Company has been registered, Mikhail Pogosyan, CEO of the Sukhoi Military Aircraft Corporation, told reporters at the LIMA 2003 arms show on Wednesday. "The Sukhoi Aviation Holding Company was registered today," he said. Pogosyan said that integration was the strategic trend in the world aircraft industry, and Russian players, he said, should not lag behind. "The Sukhoi Aviation Holding Company goes in line with the world trend of mergers between aircraft producers and creation of diversified corporations producing both civilian- and military-use aircraft. Only with joint efforts can we be set up competition with such majors as Boeing and Airbus," he said. Alexei Fyodorov, CEO of the Irkut research and production corporation, backed this point of view. "World aircraft producers merge together, and Russia is going in line. The future concept is to set up a single national aircraft producing company; both Sukhoi and Irkut will take part in the process," he said at a joint news conference at the show. The equity portfolio of the Sukhoi Aviation Holding Company, 100 percent federal property, will include 74.5 percent of shares of the KnAAPO company (Komsomolsk-on-Amur) and NAPO company (Novosibirsk), 14.7 percent of shares of the IAPO company (Irkutsk), 38 percent of the Beriev Aircraft Research and Production Corporation (Taganrog), and 50 percent plus one share of the Sukhoi Design Bureau" (Agentstvo Voyennykh Novostey, 1 Oct 03).
