Career:

• Served on the submarines of the Pacific Fleet, gradually rising to the post of commander of a large submarine.
• 1988, returned to the Pacific Fleet, as chief of staff - deputy division commander and commander of a submarine division.
• 1992, dispatched to the Pacific Fleet as first deputy commander of a submarine flotilla. 
• 1994 promoted to submarine flotilla commander on the fleet. 
• November 1996 appointed chief of staff - first deputy commander of the Pacific Fleet,
• Promoted to fleet commander in July 1997.
• Appointed Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy by presidential decree of July 19, 2001.
