Director --- Sharavin, Aleksandr
(Ekspert,
17 Nov 03).
"In the beginning of
the 1990s, Sharavin headed a research group that
that studied problems of national security and the development of military doctrine for the Center for Military-Strategic Research of the
General Staff of the Russian Federation.
He did not settle down in that department, which also was the main
initiator for the working out of reforms. Sharavin
left military service with the
rank of a colonel and became one of the founders of the National
Cartographic Corporation. His business turned out to be successful. And,
because of that, it was possible for him to create the Institute for
Political and Military Analysis.
At the present time, seven doctors of sciences and twenty three candidates
[for the degree of doctor of sciences] work in that institute" (Ekspert, 17
