Notes:
The overall schedule for PIE called for presence of experiment personnel at CEV Bretigny from 17 June 1997 until 29 June 1997. The dates from 23 to 27 June 1997 were planned for flights of the AGS systems.
The experiment plan started with simple tests, involving only single platforms, and built on these to more complex experiments, systematically testing all capabilities.
Two target areas were used. They were located to the South-West and South-East of Paris and provided a significant variety of different terrain. The airborne platform orbits and target trajectories were chosen in such a manner that the data collected could be used to assess the complementary nature of the two platform types.
The French Army provided target convoys consisting of seven vehicles each, one soft skinned vehicle leading each convoy followed by six wheeled armored vehicles. Two such convoys operated in the Western area and one in the Eastern area.
Due to severe airspace constraints in the Paris area, not all desired aircraft trajectories were possible; however, a rich variety of different look-angles and geometries were tested during the course of the four flying opportunities.
