In terms of the first aim of PIE, that is to prove that the concept for interoperability prototyped in the NC3A AGS testbed can be made to operate in a practical environment, all aims were met. There were no problems experienced with receipt or distribution of any of the data, in real time and simultaneously from the two platform types nor were there any Electro-magnetic interference problems experienced with the simultaneous co-located operation of the two data links. Data was successfully exploited in each of the ground stations and secondary data products were produced and disseminated. For example, the HORIZON ground station was able to detect the target convoys using not only HORIZON data but also Joint STARS data and distribute the results in real time.
In terms of the second major aim, to gather a data set which can be used to study various AGS issues including the complementary nature of AGS assets, a very large data set indeed was gathered. Approximately 16 hours of Joint STARS MTI and SAR data and 16 hours of HORIZON MTI data were gathered. This data includes approximately 10 hours of overlapping coverage in the following combinations: 8 hours of one Joint STARS and one HORIZON platform; 1 hour of one Joint STARS and two HORIZON and one hour of two HORIZON.
