1. On the occasion of the 32^nd. Anniversary of the historic attack by Fala - "The UNITA Patriotic and Revolutionary Armed Forces for the Liberation of Angola" - on the Vila Teixeira de Sousa, the standing committee of the political commission of UNITA, in the name of all combatants of our glorious party, reiterates firmly in letters of gold, that the programme that started on 25 December 1966 has been kept on track and is in a real and dynamic state today.
2. Since 1966, against the Portuguese colonial regime, then again in 1976 against the internationalism Russian – Cuban coalition as well as in 1992 against the ‘executive outcome’ mercenaries under the direct command of Jose Eduardo dos Santos, to this date, 32 years have past. These prove unequivocally that UNITA has followed the correct political line and that the generalised popular resistance of today will bring a happy outcome favourable to the autonomous people of Angola.
3. Today, Angola faces another factional war that Eduardo dos Santos and his oligarchy unleashed on the 5^th. December 1998. It is aimed at the destruction of the last hope of the autonomous people of Angola, worthily represented and led by UNITA under its President Dr. Jonas Malheiro Savimbi.

In this context, the generalised popular resistance is legitimate. It is being organised to counter and resist the war machine of Jose Eduardo dos Santos. UNITA’s purpose in taking the current action is to force the return by all parties concerned to the topic of achieving peace through dialogue, thereby reaching a permanent reconciliation. This would be the best homage given to the heroes and martyrs of the long road that began in Muangai in 1966.

1. In an act of despair on foot of the impetus of the generalised popular resistance against the policy of eliminating UNITA and its leaders, Jose Eduardo dos Santos has just invested hundreds of millions of dollars for the purchase of new mig fighter warplanes, while the Angolan population survives thanks to international charity donations.
2. What is evenl more strange and worrying, is the fact that on the 23/12/1998, in Lubango , MONUA supplied to the MPLA airforce, electrical power systems known as "ground power units" destined for the deadly new war machines in the service of the oligarchy in Luanda.

The mask has thus fallen from the face of MONUA and it is now clear that the obstinacy of the United Nations in unjustly applying 3 successive packages of sanctions against UNITA, was within the framework of an international conspiracy aimed at destroying UNITA together with the new democracy in Angola.

3. The UNITA leadership demands the special representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations to Angola to clarify this deliberate flouting of the mandate and statute of MONUA, which clearly does not contribute to the dialogue and the good understanding between Angolans.
