Global Mulsim News - April 1997
Lebanon
The Lebanese government carried out the death penalty against 3 Mujahideen accused of killing Nizar Halabi, the then leader of the heretic Habashi sect. This penalty was executed despite the objection of the scholars and leaders of the Ahlus-Sunnah community.
The 3 were hanged in the Rumiyah prison in Al-Matn Ash-Shamaly, which was surrounded by large numbers of security and army forces. Government forces were also deployed into other parts of the country.
The three martyrs, Ahmed Al-Kasam, Khalid Muhammad Hamid and Muneer Salah Abboud refused to wear the head- covers, and they headed to the execution platform reading Qur'an and shouting: "Allahu Akbar, La Ilaha Illa Allah."
Each of the three, who requested to be buried in the same grave, wrote a letter to his parents and to the Muslims urging them to stay firm on the Islamic Path and Jihad in Allah's Cause.
Thousands joined the funeral which turned into an angry demonstration in which the crowds shouted anti government slogans.
Egypt
The apostate authorities adopted new and dangerous measures in its confrontation with the Mujahideen. This happened when suspicious sides carried out some massacres, with the participation or prior knowledge of the Egyptian intelligence. This was later blamed on the Islamic Group, in an attempt to cover for the government's frustration following its failure to put an end to the Jihad operations, and in order to denigrate the Group's reputation and therefore the people's support to it.Following one of these massacres, which took place at an Orthodox Coptic Church, and in which 10 Christians were killed, government and media sources accused members of the Islamic Group of carrying out the attack. The Islamic Group promptly issued a communiqurefuting these allegations.
Soon after this, another massacre in the Abu Dawood - Hamadi area took place. The Islamic Group issued a second communiqu in which it said: "Just as the Islamic Group had denied its responsibility for the Abu Qorqas incident, it now denies its responsibility for the Hamadi incident. And we stress, according to the evidences we now have, that suspicious foreign and local sides are behind these incidents".
Following these incidents, the security forces launched a fervent detention campaign which left thousands of the Islamic Group's followers in prison. A communiqu was issued by the Group in this regard condemning this campaign, and stating that the actual number of those who were detained or arrested far exceeds the 1500 detainees as declared by the government.
The Islamic Group's operations intensified in the past few months, and covered the provinces of Minya, Qana, Sohaj and Aswan, and few operations were recently reported in the Asyut province, amongst which a Mujahideen unit attack against a regime's car, which resulted in the killing of one and wounding five others.
The Arabian Peninsula
Usamah Bin Ladin, the Saudi opposition leader (who currently resides in Afghanistan), stated in the course of his commentary on the visit by the Saudi defence minister, Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, to the united states, the following:
"We understand this visit to be a coronation to Sultan by the Americans as a king on the land of the two sacred mosques, as a successor for king Fahd, overstepping the role of crown prince Abdullah.
The meaning of this is clear without any ambiguity, that is America, after it had put aside the Peninsula's people from its political consideration, is now eliminating the role of the Al Saud family in the selection of the person that will rule the country.
What we expect as a result of this American foolishness, is additional expansion of resistance to the American occupation to the land of the two sacred mosques, abreast with the Zionist occupations of the Palestinian lands.
The individual who is in power is not of great concern to us, so long he is under the protection of the spears of the crusade American occupation. What is of concern to us, is the people's understanding and consciousness of the current battle's dimensions, and the necessity of their affiliation with the Mujahideen, and the preparation for the decisive confrontation day, and the expense and losses in wealth and souls this will require. Verily everything becomes easy in the Path of Allah and in order to protect Allah's religion and the Islamic sacred places and the Muslim countries, and to establish Allah's rule".
Afghanistan
Some Pakistani papers and other informed sources reported that members of the American CIA and FBI agencies arrived to Pakistan, and they are to be supported at a later stage with a special team from the US navy. They reside in the mountains close to the Afghani borders, which raises the possibility of them carrying out blitzing attacks against the Arab Mujahideen in the area.
Other suspicious activities, under the cover of journalism and humanitarian aids and combating drug dealers, were also reported.
On the other hand, an explosion in the centre of Jalal Abad city was reported. The explosion which targeted the city's main police station left dozens dead and wounded. It is worth mentioning that security and order has been established in the city since it came under the control of Taliban.
Bosnia
The NATO administration continued its policy which supports the partition of Bosnia between the Serbs and the Croats, within the Dayton agreement.
The specialised committee postponed the rule with regards to the future of the Serb-occupied Muslim city of Bretchko. The Muslim President deemed this to be unjust whereas the separatist Serb leadership refused to give up its control over the city, and put its army on alert.
Meanwhile, the Muslim city of Mostar witnessed more ethnic cleansing against Muslims. This happened when 100 Muslim families from the western part of the city were expelled from their homes by the Croats.
The Muslim-controlled eastern part was also subject to the shelling for the first time since the end of the war.
This comes as part of the Croatian aggression against Muslims, which recently left one Muslim dead and 25 injured.
Turkey
Nejmedeen Arbakan, the Turkish Prime minister finally submitted to the "recommendations" of the army, which imposes the protection and preservation of the secularism in the country.
News reports stated that the government closed down three Qur'anic schools alleging that "they were not officially registered". Arbakan also dropped a motion aimed at supporting the freedom of wearing the Islamic veil in government departments, and the freedom for pilgrims to travel by land.
Al-Rafah party allowed these latest compromises fearing a possible coup by the army.
Kashmir
The Hindu occupation forces committed yet another crime that adds to the long black list of the Indian government's abuses and massacres. This happened when the leader of "Harakatul Ansar" was executed in his prison cell after undergoing enormous torture.
He was captured in the beginning of March. Indian intelligence agents also executed the Imam of the Jam'iyyah mosque in the area of Balmalu.
In the meantime, search and detention raids occurred in vast areas of the state, and concentrated on the areas of Hardona, Tartabora and Koroara.
From their side, Mujahideen continued their military operations which targeted the occupying forces and their agents.
Eriteria The Eriterian Islamic Jihad Movement issued a series of communiqus detailing its military operations against the Israeli-backed crusade regime. What follows is a summary of the most important operations mentioned in the communiqus:
Barkah Province: Mujahideen detonated a bomb at a passing military convoy, which caused one truck to b urst into flames and the killing of 33 soldiers.
Mujahideen carried a number of operations in the areas of "Shkalkal" and "Nadlibay" near "Mansourah", which left 15 Eriterian soldiers dead. Another 2 of the regime soldiers were killed in "Rahia Abay", and 4 others were killed in the camp of "Fadek". A f ierce battle broke in "Sarkat" to the west of "Anmrdat" city, in which 10 soldiers were killed and 2 Mujahideen were blessed with Martyrdom - Inshaa Allah.
Samhar province: a battle erupted in "Darah". 5 enemy soldiers were killed.
Lakash Province: Mujahideen ambushed an enemy patrol unit, where 5 soldiers were killed.
Sudan
The Judo-Crusade onslaught against the Sudan has intensified. Armies advancing from Eriteria, Ethiopia and Uganda launched varied attacks on the eastern and southern fronts, in an attempt to topple the pro-Islam Sudanese regime.
The official spokesperson of the Sudanese government At-Tayyib Ibrahim stated that the Muslim forces were able to halt the Ugandan attack near the city of Yeiy, and that it destroyed 8 advanced tanks, and that they are advancing to force the rebels out of the areas they had occupied.
On the eastern front, the Sudanese forces launched a counterattack against the invading forces, and were able to recapture important areas such as Khoriyabus and Wedelias.
Meanwhile, brigadier general Abdul Rahim Mohammed Hussein assured that the Muslim forces are in control of the battle, after they had passed the defensive stage and engaged in the offensive.
Burma
News sources reported that a number of Buddhist monks raided some Mosques in different parts of the country, ruining their contents, beating up the worshippers and burning the Qur'an.
The Burmese security forces made no effort in detaining or punishing the criminals.
These latest assaults come as a part of the onslaught against Muslims which aims at turning them away from their religion or extraditing them to neighbouring Bangladesh.
Eastern Turkistan (China)
The communist authorities in the city of Yening began the trial of dozens of Muslims accused of sparking rioting in the province.
It is known that the atheist authorities are holding these hollow trials to terrorise Muslims and to halt their struggle against the Chinese occupation.
It is expected that the Chinese authority will issue death sentences against the Muslim prisoners.
