NIMA Pathfinder Program: Motion Imagery Exploitation
- Subject matte experts performed the assessments
- Subject matter experts represented nearly 20 imagery intelligence organizations
- Emphasis was on operational exploiters
- Subject matter experts established that motion imagery exploitation includes needs that are distinct from familiar still imagery exploitation
- Over 53 exploitation functions that are applicable to motion imagery exploitation were defined and assessed
- Motion imagery operational experience was analyzed
- Two distinct exploitation processes were identified
Real-Time RSTA: motion imagery used to view pre-selected targets, conduct open ended searches, and extract information meeting pre-defined criteria instantaneously or within seconds
Follow-On Exploitation: post-real-time extraction of useful information from motion imagery. Follow-on exploitation can include all of the traditional exploitation phases: phase 1, phase 2, and phase 3
