Visualization System
- The MUSE visualization System is a combination of GOTS/COTS products that generates an Electro-Optical (EO) / Infra-Red (IR) payload scene scene with overlays for the platform being flown. The visualization COTs package that is currently used is the Real-Time Advanced Graphics Environment (RAGETM) from GreyStone Technology, Inc.
- RAGETM can be hosted on Silicon Graphics Onyx2 IR, Onyx RE, or O2 Workstations. The higher end Onyx2 IR and Onyx RE workstations are capable of generating up to 4 separate video payload scenes and the SGI O2 can generate one payload scene.
- The visualization system is a Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) (protocol 2.0.4 or 2.0.5) compliant simulation. The DIS network interface and DIS services are provided by Mäk Technologies VR-Link network interface. Entity data for visualization is provided from external constructive or virtual networked simulations. Protocol Data Units (PDUs) accepted are: Entity State, Fire, Detonate, Collision, Event Report, Create, Remove, Start, Stop and Emission. Flames and Damage appearance bits are also modeled.
- Imagery data (multi-spectral, panchromatic, or synthetic) is draped over Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED) to create the 3-dimensional payload scene. Commercial terrain tools from Multigen are used to optimize terrain for improved performance.
