AS EUNICE YOON REPORTS FROM SEOUL, SECURITY HAS BEEN TIGHTENED AROUND ALL U-S INSTALLATIONS. TEXT: THE U-S EMBASSY IN SOUTH KOREA HAS ASKED ALL AMERICANS IN THE COUNTRY TO TAKE EXTRA SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. OFFICIALS SAY THE EMBASSY HAS RECEIVED UNCONFIRMED REPORTS THAT U-S MILITARY INSTALLATIONS AND THEIR WORKERS MAY BE THE TARGET OF A TERRORIST ATTACK. IN RESPONSE, U-S ARMY BASES AROUND THE PENINSULA HAVE STARTED TO BEEF UP SECURITY. MORE LOCAL POLICE HAVE NOW ALSO BEEN ASSIGNED TO DUTY IN THE AREA SURROUNDING THE U-S EMBASSY COMPOUND IN SEOUL. THE EMBASSY HAS ADVISED ALL AMERICANS TO REVIEW THEIR PERSONAL SECURITY PRACTICES AND TO BE ALERT TO ANY UNUSUAL ACTIVITY AROUND THEIR HOMES OR BUSINESSES.
