A SMALLER PLANE, SPECIALLY EQUIPPED AS A FLYING MEDICAL FACILITY, WILL BE SENT TO DAR ES SALAM WITH DOCTORS AND OTHERS ON BOARD. THE PENTAGON IS ALSO SENDING ADDITIONAL MARINES AND SECURITY POLICE TO PROTECT WHAT IS LEFT OF THE EMBASSIES. OFFICIALS SAY THE EXTRA GUARDS ARE NEEDED TO PROTECT THE EMBASSIES' STAFF, EQUIPMENT AND CLASSIFIED INFORMATION. INTELLIGENCE OFFICIALS SAY THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF ANY ALERT OR WARNING OF THE ATTACKS. THE F-B-I SAYS IT WILL SOON DISPATCH AGENTS AND EXPERTS TO TRY TO DETERMINE WHO PLANTED THE BOMBS AND WHY.
