Intelligence Agency gets new commander


KELLY AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- Brig. Gen. Michael V. Hayden, a major general selectee, assumed command of the Air Intelligence Agency here Jan. 5.

He succeeds Maj. Gen. John P. Casciano, who moves to the Pentagon to become the Air Force's assistant chief of staff for intelligence.

Hayden comes to the agency from Stuttgart, Germany, where he was director of intelligence for the U.S. European Command.

With more than 16,000 military and civilian personnel serving at 95 locations around the globe, AIA is the Air Force's single-source intelligence agency, combining various intelligence disciplines to provide current, accurate data to air component commanders and national decision makers.
