Washington -- White House Chief of Staff-designate Erskine Bowles
announced December 18 that Brigadier General Donald L. Kerrick will be
a Deputy National Security Advisor.

Following is the White House biodata:

Brigadier General Donald L. Kerrick
Deputy Assistant to the President
for National Security Affairs

Brigadier General Kerrick is a soldier and statesman in the finest
tradition of public service. Currently Director for Operations at the
National Military Intelligence Collection Center at the Defense
Intelligence Agency, General Kerrick previously served on the NSC
staff as a director for European Affairs. His extensive experience in
national security affairs also includes service on the Joint Staff,
Army Staff, Military Intelligence commands in Germany and Korea, and
deployment during Desert Storm. Last year, President Clinton appointed
General Kerrick to be a principal negotiator on the Bosnia peace
mission, led by Richard Holbrooke, that secured the Dayton Agreement
ending the war in Bosnia. As Deputy Assistant to the President for
National Security Affairs, General Kerrick will assist the National
Security Advisor in managing the dally operations of the NSC staff and
in developing and directing national security policy.
