ACCESSION NUMBER:371652 FILE ID:POL505 DATE:12/16/94 TITLE:CONGRESSIONAL REPORT, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16 (12/16/94) TEXT:*94121605.POL CONGRESSIONAL REPORT, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16 (Committee assignments) (410) COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS ALMOST COMPLETE IN HOUSE Republicans and Democrats, in their respective caucuses, have almost completed the naming of House committee chairs and ranking members, as well as filling the membership of the committees. House Republicans have completed the process, and Democrats were expected to do so soon. The committee members must be ratified by the full House when it convenes in January, but the chairs and ranking members are appointed solely by the respective caucuses. In the Senate, no official announcements on committee chairs or committee assignments have yet been made by either party, and an aide to Republican leader Bob Dole said it would probably be some time before those lists were completed. Following are the chairs and ranking members of House committees. (The Wireless File will provide the complete list of committee members as soon as it is available).
