German CL 289 Drone Imagery

The CL 289 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle was developed in the mid-1970s as a joint German, Canadian and French program. The system has been operational with the German Army since. The CL 289 is produced by the company Canadair in Quebec with Dornier providing the systems integration for the German Army system. The two primary sensors on the CL 289 are a Zeiss-Eltro Optronic optical camera for day-time missions and a SAGEM Corsaire infra-red linescan system with real-time video data transmission for day and night reconnaissance.
