Faculty Director

Diane C. Snyder is a Lecturer of Public and International Affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School where she has served as a CIA "officer-in-residence" since June 1995. Her field of expertise is technology and national security with particular focus on civilian applications of technology developed for intelligence purposes. She has led major research efforts developing new technology to support intelligence activities in counter-terrorism, negotiated international arms control treaties and has published on the former. Her tenure at the Central Intelligence Agency since 1985 has included assignments in Eastern and Western Europe and Washington DC. Her experience has been in Research and Development in Information Sciences and Artificial Intelligence, technical and diplomatic support to international treaty negotiations and monitoring, and emerging telecommunications technologies. Her current research interests include the role of technology and policy in the missions for the US Intelligence Community in the post-Cold War era as well as policy issues regarding technology transfer and control in the new world order.

Commissioners

Edward Cheng is a senior in Electrical Engineering and a certificate student in the Woodrow Wilson School from Wayne, New Jersey. His senior thesis researches policy solutions for computer crime, hacking, and information warfare. Very interested in the developing fields of computer and Internet law, Ed spent last summer in Washington DC on a science policy internship for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He plans to attend law school next year and to pursue a career in government or law.

Elizabeth Cogan is a senior in the Woodrow Wilson School from Houston, Texas. She is concentrating on international affairs, with a focus on US-Latin American relations. She recently interned at the US Department of State and plans to pursue a career in diplomacy or law.

Isabel Hollunder-Reese is a senior in the Woodrow Wilson School from Lubeck, Germany. Her senior thesis is on the German Intelligence Service.

Chad Ridley, the graduate consultant for the Conference, is a second-year MPA candidate at the Woodrow Wilson School from Macon, Georgia and a graduate of Tulane University. His field of

study in the graduate program is international relations, and he is specializing in national security policy. Last summer he interned in Washington with a multi-national corporation and plans to return to DC to pursue a career in the national security arena with the US Government.

Conference Members

Michael L. Brown is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School and a certificate student in Latin American Studies from Princeton, New Jersey. He is concentrating on international affairs with a particular focus on US-Latin American relations in the post cold-war era. In addition his academic work, he is the student project director of the Isles community service program in Trenton. He is interested in attending business and law school, and plans to pursue a career in corporate law.

Lucas Cadena is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Bogota, Colombia. He is concentrating on American foreign policy with a particular focus on security issues. He has worked as an intern with the Bureau of Political Military Affairs in the Department of State and is interested in a career with the government in the areas of foreign policy or defense.

Monina A. Diaz is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from Monrovia, California. Concentrating in international affairs, she is specifically studying the experience of Arab minorities in Western Europe. Aside from studies, Monina serves as the Secretary of the Minority Public Affairs Society and spends time working with young children as a mentor and tutor. Monina hopes to pursue a career in international diplomacy.

Jono Fischbach is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from West Lafayette, Indiana. He is studying American Export Policy and its impacts on the Far East. In addition to his academic work, he broadcasts sports events for WPRB -- Princeton's student-run radio station -- and participates in intramural tennis. In the future, Jono is hoping to attend law school and pursue a career in politics.

Sean Gregory is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from the Bronx, New York. He is concentrating on domestic policy, with strong focus on urban policy. In addition to academics, he is a member of the varsity basketball team and WPRB -- the campus radio station. He is interested in pursuing a career in journalism or government.

Gail Hodges is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from Fulton, Maryland. She is researching the socio-economic impact of commodity markets on lesser developed countries. Gail will be studying at the University of Cape Town next semester to take part in a special Wilson School Task Force on water policy. She plans to work in finance or government after graduation.

Daniel I. Konieczny is a junior in Physics pursuing a certificate in the Woodrow Wilson School from Erie, Pennsylvania. He is concentrating on domestic energy policy, and spent last summer at Los Alamos National Laboratories studying computational physics. Dan is interested in either attending law school or continuing with his studies in physics.

Grace J. Koo is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from Vancouver, British Columbia. She is concentrating on international affairs, with a focus on American trade policy in East Asia. Outside the classroom, she serves as editor-in-chief of the Princeton Pacific Asia Review, an official publication of the Wilson School. She is currently considering careers in a number of fields including law.

Brian C. Lewis is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from Chicago, Illinois. He is concentrating on the intersection of public policy and emerging information technologies, with a particular focus on the possibilities of social transformation with these new technologies. After graduation he would like to attend law school and study the intersection of law and technology.

John Maris is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School. Born in England, he currently lives in Miami, Florida. His academic focus is on international relations -- particularly looking at the possible expansion of the European Union. Although he has worked with children and in engineering jobs in the past, his career plans revolve around business and law.

Justin Riley Murfin is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from Miami, Florida. He is concentrating on international relations, with a particular focus on US-Cuban relations. Apart from academics, much of his time is spent running a tutoring/big brother program for Latin American children in the Princeton area.

Zachary Potter is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School. He is concentrating on domestic policy and its relationship to differing economic theories of justice. In addition to academics, he has spent time working with severely developmentally disabled adults. In the future, he hopes to pursue a career in land development.

Lara Shohet is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from Toronto, Canada. She is concentrating in domestic policy and focusing on the effects of public policy on the media. She interned at the last G7 conference in Halifax, Canada where she worked with the press. After she graduates from Princeton, she hopes to attend medical school and pursue a career in medicine.

Jeff Siegel is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from Staten Island, New York. He is concentrating on domestic policy, with a focus on urban education reform. Outside the classroom, he is the President of the College Democrats and was recently elected President of the Undergraduate Student Government. He is interested in going to law school and pursuing a career in government or law.

Mora Stephens is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School from New York, New York. Her concentration is domestic policy, with a focus on development of the arts. She spent last summer in Washington DC working as a research assistant for the President's Committee for the Arts and Humanities. After graduation, she is interested in directing films.

Andrea Wolf from Hazlet, New Jersey is a junior in the Woodrow Wilson School. She is a pre-medical student in addition to her concentration in health care policy. She serves as Vice-President of Princeton's Student Health Advisory Board and represents Princeton University at the American College Health Association's Consumer Section. She plans to attend medical school and pursue a career in medicine and policy.
