480TH INTELLIGENCE GROUP


1. Mission. The 480th Intelligence Group (480 IG) provides tailored intelligence products and services to the United States Air Force worldwide. It applies intelligence data to air warfighter-specific requirements. The 480 IG is a subordinate organization of the National Air Intelligence Center (NAIC).

2. Command. The 480 IG Commander:

2.1. Is responsible to the NAIC Commander.

2.2. Commands the forces of the 480 IG to include the 20th Intelligence Squadron, 27th Intelligence Squadron, and the 36th Intelligence Squadron.

2.3. Upon activation by the President of the United States, commands the forces of the 123d Intelligence Squadron, Arkansas Air National Guard.

3. Responsibilities. The 480 IG:

3.1. Provides intelligence application products for targeting and air operations.

3.2. Provides mission planning products and support.

3.3. Provides aircrew training and exercise products and support.

3.4. Performs evaluations of emerging intelligence systems, technology, and applications.

3.5. Manages the Intelligence Data Base Distribution Host for the Combat Intelligence System.

3.6. Provides IDHS (Intelligence Data Handling System) and secure communications system support for Headquarters Air Combat Command.
