1. Mission. The Air Force Information Warfare Center (AFIWC) is located at Kelly AFB TX. The center:

1.1. Develops, maintains, and deploys information warfare and command and control warfare (IW/C2W) capabilities in support of operations, campaign planning, acquisition, and testing.

1.2. Acts as time-sensitive, single focal point for intelligence data and C2W services.

1.3. Provides technical expertise for computer and communications security.

1.4. Is the Air Force focal point for tactical deception and operations security.

2. Command. AFIWC is a subordinate unit of the Air Intelligence Agency (AIA). AIA is a Field Operating Agency (FOA) subordinate to the Assistant Chief of Staff, Intelligence (ACS/I).

3. Responsibilities. The various IW/C2W capabilities of AFIWC are provided to a full range of Air Force activities and a wide variety of Army, Navy, Marine, Joint organizations, and US agencies. The center:

3.1. Satisfies other services, Department of Defense components, and US government agencies with IW/C2W products and services in direct response to stated requirements.

3.2. Is a multiservice organization with Marine and National Security Agency participation. AFIWC continues a steady growth with personnel from both organizations. The center also continues to expand its participation with the Army, Navy, and other US agencies.

3.3. Communicates with supported commands, Air Force organizations, other services, and US agencies on matters of direct operational impact to its mission areas and responsibilities.
